I spent 3 days looking at the jeep, arranging a loan, then going to finalize and purchase the jeep.
I'll be clear...had I dealt with Renee the whole time I would have bought the vehicle I was after regardless of the misunderstandings.
I arrived before open about 845. They are supposed to open at 9. No one showed up til 9:15 and it was a maintenance man. He was cool and seemed to do decent work.
Now...the owner seemed like a good ole boy who was just slowing down with age. I'll give him that. We shot the breeze for a few while going over things here and there. Agreements. etc. He fought me on the hard top but eventually sank cause he knew I wasn't taking it without it after repeating myself until it was abundantly clear.
The jeep was NOT as I was told it would be when I would pick it up. I was told it would have a bunch of spare parts without the necessity to buy a junk jeep that would basically be a 1000 dollar yard ornament. I loved the jeep I originally saw though, and arranged to get it. I was not made clearly aware I HAD to buy the junk jeep to get the hard top roof. I was willing to deal with that as a miscommunication on both parts.
Everything would have been fine had he just put the hard top on and inspected it like Renee said it would be...but I already felt like my money wasn't appreciated and my time was wasted. I told him multiple times that until the jeep was in satisfactory order I wasn't turning over the check or signing anything at a notary. Voices started getting raised so I just said 'I'm done' and left. I got hollered at like I was the a-hole 'that wasn't part of the deal and you knew it!' Whatever dude. I'm the customer. Either satisfy the demands or kiss my business good bye and go sell to some other schmuck who will fall for your bait and switch.
Now for what wasn't my fault.
Greatest used car dealership around
Thanks to Renee, this place gets 3 stars instead of 1. She discovered my driver's license in the xerox machine and called to have me get it. That's honesty and integrity. She's great, and if anyone goes there ask for her and ONLY deal with her. She will treat you the way you want to be treated. I want to believe that her father, the owner, who continually put me off from buying the jeep was just an older, set in his ways, stubborn guy who didn't get the full scoop on what I expected. Either way, half of my night was wasted and I have an additional inquiry on my credit report for 2 years dogging down my score. So for that, I am airing my grievances.
He finally arrives after 10 AM, over an hour late. And he's more concerned with emptying the contents of his car 'trash and groceries' than settling this deal. It took him nearly a half hour to sit down and begin the process of selling this jeep to me.
3 Stars because Renee was awesome and honest.
I work evenings and nights, so staying up during the day is the same as someone staying up all night.
Since I had an hour to look it over I noticed the inspection was still out. I was told there would be a new sticker when I bought it. The fact that this was not done over 48 hours really made me feel like my business was unappreciated.
Horrible had nothing but trouble when my friend got his car from there. Such a rip off!!!
Great experience, would definitely come back
